We are excited to invite you to the upcoming second edition of our yearly scientific symposium on antimicrobial use and resistance in animals and the impact on public health, animal health, and the environment.

This symposium aims to gather scientists from Belgium and abroad to present their recent results related to antimicrobial use and resistance.


The symposium will be in English.

Participation is free of charge. Registration will be open soon, more information will become available on this webpage.



The keynote lecture will be given by Jean-Yves Madec, Scientific Director of the antimicrobial resistance topic at the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), with a presentation entitled “How to monitor AMR in diseased animals ? The example of the French Resapath network”.

The program will be completed by oral and poster presentations selected among abstracts received before May 5, 2024.




We welcome abstracts on the following topics (not exhaustive list): antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance in animals (mechanisms, spread, ….), antimicrobial stewardship in animals, prevention and control of antimicrobial resistant organisms, impact on public health, animal health, and welfare and the environment, vaccination, alternatives (pre-, pro- and synbiotics, phages, bacteriocins, ...),

Your abstract should not exceed 1 page (A4) length and should be sent as a .pdf form to the e-mail address

Submission is postponed! Abstracts are accepted until May 20, 2024.

Authors will be notified on their acceptence for oral or poster presentation by the end of May, 2024.
